Important Information for Residential Solar Panel Retailers

House Bill 0075, the Residential Solar Panel Consumer Protection Amendments, was passed by the Utah Legislature during the 2025 session and takes effect May 7, 2025. This law sets forth rules and obligations for solar retailers selling residential solar energy systems in Utah.  For details on the requirements for solar retailers, please consult Utah Code § 13-52 et seq. 

Note: While the Act is now in effect, the registration process with the Division of Consumer Protection will not open until late Spring 2026.
